The music of the pearl
I think the last line of the book represents how when they threw the pearl back, all of the hatred and evil starts drifting away, so that they can live a happy and normal life. It describes how that from now on their will be no more people trying to hurt them and follow them in search of the pearl. The effect that the pearl brought for Kino's family was severe because in the end Coyotito got shot by the rifle. As the pearl disappears, it means that the influence it had on Kino is gone. I think that the pearl brought good and bad things to Kino's family. It brought a hope of a better life but then it also brought evil and greed to kino's family because of the people around him who wanted the pearl.

ReplyDeleteI don't think that you particularly referred to the music of the pearl, but you did show a very good description of the burdens of the pearl. I didn't get to read the last bit of the book, though now i really understand what happened to the family from the pearl.I really liked the last sentence where you explain the effect of the pearl on the family. I would say that this response that this response met the standard that was expected.
